Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using BooksTuner, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

2. What the Service Does

BooksTuner is a free tool that allows you to:

• Convert ebook files between FB2 and EPUB formats
• Edit ebook metadata (title, author, series, cover, and other fields)
• Search for cover images via Google Books and Open Library
• Send the processed file to an email address of your choice (e.g., your Kindle address)

3. Your Responsibilities

You may only upload files that you own or have the right to process. The service is intended for personal use — converting books you legitimately own for use on your own devices.

You must not use the service to:

• Upload or distribute content you do not have the right to copy or modify
• Provide the service's output to third parties in a way that infringes copyright
• Circumvent digital rights management (DRM) protections
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose

4. Data Handling and Privacy

• Uploaded files are processed on the server and automatically deleted when the session expires (within 15 minutes).
• Email addresses entered for delivery are used solely to send the requested file and are not retained after dispatch.
• IP addresses are collected for rate-limiting purposes only and are not linked to any personal identity.
• The service does not use tracking cookies or analytics.

5. Third-Party Services

BooksTuner integrates with the following third-party services:

• Google Books API — used to search for book cover images. Powered by Google. Usage is subject to Google's Terms of Service.
• Open Library (Internet Archive) — used as an additional source of cover images.
• Amazon Kindle — if you choose to send a file to a Kindle email address, delivery is handled via Amazon's infrastructure and subject to Amazon's Terms of Service. BooksTuner is not affiliated with Amazon.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• Accuracy or completeness of metadata or conversion results
• Successful delivery of emails
• Continuous or error-free availability of the service
• That conversion output will meet specific quality or compatibility requirements

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BooksTuner and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, including but not limited to data loss or errors in converted files.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
