How it works
Amazon's Personal Document Service assigns a unique @kindle.com email address to each device. Send a file to that address and it appears in your Kindle library over Wi-Fi — no cable, no app.
Supported formats
Amazon accepts: EPUB, MOBI, PDF, DOCX, HTML, RTF, TXT. FB2 is not on the list — convert it to EPUB first using BooksTuner.
Step 1 — Find your Kindle email address
There are three ways:
- Website — sign in to amazon.com, go to Content & Devices → Preferences → Send-to-Kindle E-Mail Settings
- Mobile app — More > Settings → Send-to-Kindle E-Mail Address
- Kindle — All Settings > Your Account > Kindle Email Address
Step 2 — Add an approved sender
Amazon only delivers documents from addresses you've explicitly approved. If the sender isn't on the list, the email is silently dropped.
On amazon.com: Content & Devices → Preferences → "Approved Personal Document E-mail List" → "Add a new e-mail address".
Add your own email address if you're sending directly, or no-reply@tech.bookstuner.app if you're using BooksTuner.
Step 3 — Send the file
Via BooksTuner (FB2 conversion + send in one step):
- Upload your file at BooksTuner
- Edit metadata if needed
- For FB2, check the "Convert to EPUB" checkbox
- Enter your Kindle email and click "Next"
Directly from your email client (EPUB, MOBI, PDF):
Attach the file to an email from your approved address and send it to your Kindle address. The subject line doesn't matter.
Delivery time
Books usually appear on Kindle within a few minutes when connected to Wi-Fi. If the book doesn't arrive:
- Check that the sending address is on your approved list
- Check that the file is under 25 MB
- Make sure Kindle is connected to Wi-Fi, not cellular
File size limit
Amazon accepts attachments up to 25 MB. If your book with cover exceeds that, download it and transfer via USB cable instead.
